One Place to Begin Debt Management

You’ve put together a debt management plan that involves repairing your credit, but where on earth do you start? We realize that some consumers may be unsure about how to acquire copies of their own credit reports. Today we’ll discuss pulling your credit report.
For Free! Thanks to the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, every consumer is legally entitled to obtain their own credit report from a credit reporting agency, for free, once per year. There are countless locations on the internet through which you can participate in the free annual credit report plan.
After Credit Denial. If you are turned down for credit based on information in your credit report (the creditor must provide a reason for denial in writing), you have sixty days from the day you receive a denial notice to receive a free copy of the credit report, but this is not an automatic thing – consumers must request the credit report.
Anytime…for a fee. The three major credit reporting agencies, or credit bureaus, are Equifax, Experience, and Trans Union.
Debt Management Tip: By using a combination of the above methods of credit report pulling, consumers should have a fairly easy and painless way to regularly monitor their credit reports for credit repair and debt management purposes.
